Nest: 8' above the ground in an upright crotch of a bushy hawthorne tree in a wooded pasture. Made of grass and some moss, well plastered with mud, and a cup 4" in diameter by 2½" deep lined with fine grass. Bird flushed. See "Birds of Oregon" by Gabrielson & Jewett regarding subspecies.
