Nest in low wide railroad cut just below Smith H-P-Ave concrete bridge, 5 feet from ground on top of a willow stump 5 inches thick, surrounded by upright shoots 2 feet high, beside two low willow saplings very fully hidden. Held 4 eggs in 2nd set. Large, deeply cupped, compactly made of weed stalks (foundation), grass stems and blades and mud lined densely with fine soft, dry grasses. Took the eggs as large annually not worrying. Seen east of egg or young along this railroad blue several pairs east yearly.
