Nest in thin Sassafras tree in edge of wood along roadside, placed between a crotch formed by two limbs and a poison ivy vine. Composed of coarse grasses and mud, and thickly lined with dry fine grasses; well defined. Female later seen sitting on empty nest. Eggs broad ovate and undersized.
