Nest placed about 5 feet up in crotch of elder bush in thick clump of elders along bush fringed marsh or farm, a few trees also closely; well hidden. Loosely but well made nest of fine sticks, grass and weed stems, bark and weed strips, and a thick lining of brown-colored rootlets, well cupped and of normal size. Set originally consisted of 4 eggs.
