Nest in a veritable thicket of low bushes, vines and brambles, in corner of low wooded bluff, near a creek, built 4 feet up in a tangle of grape vines and not very well hidden. Loosely made of grasses, vine stems and tendrils, a thin layer of beech leaves and a thicker layer of fine grape vine bark strips. Lined thickly with brownish white vine tendrils. Very earliest nest for a clutch. Contents: middle 5", outside depth 3½", Diameter 1" 2½", inside 2".
