The nest was fifteen feet above the ground in a cedar tree. Watched birds daily build nest. After laying two eggs, I climbed to see in the nest frightening the mother bird. She did not return all day, so late in the afternoon I took the nest and the eggs.

The collector's climbing to inspect the nest after only two eggs were laid caused the mother bird to abandon the nest permanently, forcing the collector to take an incomplete clutch.
